Senior Data Scientist

We’re looking for a Senior Data Scientist based in Berlin to work on complex demand forecasting and inventory optimisation problems in grocery retail.

Tech stack

Python, SQL, GCP (BigQuery, Cloud Run, Vertex AI), Cloud Composer, Airflow, Git, CI/CD, Claude Code, Cursor

What you’ll work on

• Probabilistic and distributional demand forecasting
• Inventory simulations and ordering policies under uncertainty
• Model monitoring, validation and backtesting
• Large, messy real-world datasets
• Production-grade data science solutions

What we’re looking for

• Strong experience in demand forecasting and inventory optimisation
• Operations Research / inventory simulation experience, including ordering under uncertainty and newsvendor-type problems
• Experience with quantile regression, gradient-boosted models and distributional forecasting
• Strong understanding of time-based validation and backtesting
• Production-level Python and SQL
• Ideally, an MSc or PhD in a quantitative field

Nice to have

🇫🇷 French or 🇩🇪 German would be a big advantage.
