Engineering Manager / Tech Lead

We’re building a new engineering team to own a money-movement product built on top of Ethena’s stablecoin infrastructure. This is a hands-on player‑coach role: you’ll ship production code regularly while shaping architecture, hiring, and operational practices, with the backing and resources of a major stablecoin company.

Responsibilities

• Write and ship production code as a top individual contributor, taking on the most critical work.
• Own the system architecture across services, money-paths, data models, infrastructure, and on-chain settlement.
• Build and hire a small senior engineering team; run a rigorous, humane hiring process and onboard engineers with plans.
• Set and enforce a high engineering bar: code review, CI required to merge, disciplined testing (TDD/BDD), idempotency and correctness.
• Run a high-velocity delivery cadence with predictable, versioned releases and short lead time from idea to production.
• Drive production reliability: alerting, on-call rotation, tested runbooks, and incident response.

Requirements

• Experience leading engineering for a consumer money product (neobank, payments, or crypto) where correctness had real financial stakes.
• Proven hands-on leadership of a small team (~3–8) while shipping code within the last year.
• Ownership of production operations for a money system: on-call, incident resolution, observability, secrets and key hygiene.
• Experience integrating regulated third-party financial rails (at least two: card issuing/BIN sponsor, KYC, banking fiat rails, key custody/signing).
• Strong track record running high-velocity, disciplined delivery (sprints or kanban, versioned releases, TDD/BDD).
• Fluency with agentic development (coding agents, MCP servers, reusable skills) and awareness of failure modes for money products.
