Senior Kafka / Event Streaming Architect

Hi! We are looking for a Senior Kafka / Event Streaming Architect for a 3-month Banking/FinTech project.

Candidate locations: All except Russia.

Start date: 01 September 2026. Duration: 3 months.

Scope: Assessment and review of a large-scale distributed event-driven platform with a focus on Kafka architecture, reliability, scalability, and performance.

Experience

• 6+ years in distributed systems / event streaming
• Strong Apache Kafka experience
• Topics and partitions
• Consumer groups
• Replication
• Rebalancing
• Producer/consumer patterns
• Event schemas and contracts
• Kafka monitoring and troubleshooting
• Understanding of event-driven architecture
• Experience analyzing Kafka-related production incidents
